Colored Text in Minecraft [All the Secrets]

Making colored text in Minecraft is not that hard as you think.

But first we have to think what do we want to do, because we can color the chat and the signs.

I’m going to teach you how to make both easily, v1.16 and older.

How to Type Colored Text in Minecraft Chat

  • First we need a command block, we can get one using this command in the chat:

/give @p minecraft:command_block

  • Place it and put this other command inside, don’t touch any other option:

/tellraw @a [{"text":"Follow us on Facebook","color":"blue"}]

@aTo all players.
@rA random player.
@pTo the nearest player (only will see it who clicks the button).
@eAll entities (ignore for this use).
  • You can replace the color using all this ones, replace it for blue:

Dark Blue

Dark Red

Light Red

Dark Green

Dark Purple

Dark Gray

Light Green

Light Blue

color text command

Note: Only from Minecraft 1.16+ we can use all the range of RGB, simply we have to replace the color name for an HEX color code like this example:

/tellraw @a {"text":"","color":"#A981A9"}

HEX color generator here:

  • The last step is to give the command block a single redstone pulse, with a button for example.

How to color a Sign in Minecraft

In Minecraft Java there is only one way for getting colored signs, we only have to take a dye and right click on the sign, yeah! Now you got colored words.

There is a way of getting different colors in the same sign, but we hace to install plugins, it’s only made for servers as i know.

On this page you can find the latest mods. Hope i helped 🙂 See you soon!
